Why MSN still doesn't work with Opera
This page documents the HTML and CSS files MSN served on Feb 7,
2003. On that date, MSN changed their setup so that Opera7 no longer
receives the distorted style sheet served earlier. Thank you, MSN.
However, Opera6 still receives the distorted style sheets.
The table below shows that Opera6 is being served the same style
sheets as Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (MSIE3). MSIE3 was released in 1996 and is no longer
considered practical for surfing the web. Even Microsoft's own pages
(on MSN and beyond) no longer work with MSIE3. Opera6, by comparison, is
a modern browser released
in 2001 and is fully able to display the same MSN front page (unless distorted style sheets are served). Classifying it along with the outdated MSIE3 is an insult.
